Our vision

With HARVISH® we envision the establishment of new fisheries in the North, realising untapped or underutilised local marine resources. HARVISH® will enable the supply of novel and short-travelled marine ingredients to feed the growing global population, either directly as products for human consumption or indirectly as feed ingredients contributing to the growth of the global aquaculture industry.

To truly achieve an ecosystem-based management of the ocean we must embrace the concept of “balanced harvesting”, allowing species diversity to thrive.

Research commissioned by the High Level Panel for A Sustainable Ocean Economy suggests that it is possible to achieve 6 times more food from the ocean. With HARVISH® we envision changing current fishing practices to facilitate a more balanced catch from the ocean.
